REVIEW ♡ Misikko Hana Flat Iron ♡ A Fairytale Dream Come True!

So I've been using this wonderful little hair straightening appliance by Misikko called a Hana Flat Iron...it's been a little over a month since I started testing it and I have to say I love it just as much as when I used it for the first time!! This is a pretty awesome little tool to have in your hair arsenal. First before I get into reviewing it I wanted to let you guys know a little back story about my hair...yes, it has a life of it's own. lol... I've had a hate hate affair with my hair ever since I was little that's only just recently turned into a love affair...and here's the story behind it and as every great story starts with Once Upon A Time...that's what I'll start with. *wink*

Once Upon A Time...there was a little princess (Yes, that's me!) and her mother the Queen lived in a lovely little Kingdom. The Queen adored her little Princess and wanted her to look her very best but of course the Queen loved...I mean, LOVED curly hair and she wanted her little Princess to have the most gorgeous of curly hair in all of their kingdom!! So she took the little Princess to the Kingdoms salon where she instructed them to give her princess the loveliest of curly hair in all the kingdom. (Oh vey, they gave moi a perm.) By the time they were done with the Princess's hair all the princess wanted to do was say "Off with their heads!!" (Which I'm sure you'd felt like saying more often than not yourself peeps...be honest. Ha!) Her poor hair became damaged, dry, brittle and frizzed out beyond belief. And yes, I have the picture to prove it...and no it will never see the light of day. Just saying. Just imagine an electrocuted poodle. No exaggerating here peeps!

From that point on the Princess tried every potion, conditioner, special product to smooth and repair her poor blonde tresses...some worked temporarily while others just didn't do very much of anything. Other potions made her hair too moisturized making it look greasy and others did the opposite and dried her lovely hair out. After much searching and testing out, the Princess finally found the right products for her hair but alas was never able to achieve that super straight look she had always dreamed of....that is until today!! (You know where I'm going with this, don't you?) a great wizard named "Misikko" created a fabulous new fangled appliance called a Hana Flat Iron and the Princess finally had her super straight gorgeous hair! .....no THE END here...this is just...The Beginning...  *wink wink*

So, yes I have been through quite a journey with my hair but it was worth it because I constantly get complimented on it and I love making my hair looking pretty. It makes me feel good. Plain and simple. I just can't concentrate on anything if I haven't glammed up my hair.

So on to the Review...this Misikko Flat Iron came in a box which you can see below FULL with all kinds of goodies!! I felt like it was Christmas to be honest with you...they really know how to make all their customers feel special. I didn't expect all the extra little gifts that came with my flat iron...I was just soooo pleasantly surprised. It came with an eyelash curler, an ELF Lip Gloss, ELF Eye Shadow Palette, Hand Sanitizer, Nail Buffers, a pretty white silk rose, a heart shaped box full of bath melts that are shaped like rose petals, it even had a Christmas Angel Ornament!

Along with those extras it also came with a Bag to store your Flat Iron in, a rubber mat so you can put down your flat iron without worrying about it burning the counter top, and an awesome shine & heat protecting serum that I'm seriously going to be restocking up on when I use up this gigantic 8 oz bottle of it! I highly reccomend it too peeps. It smells delightful, and really works to make your hair shiny and best of all it protects your hair from the heat.

Before I tried this flat iron out, I'd only ever used a $30 flat iron...this one is conisderably more costly at $239. It's a lot for a hair appliance but I have to say it's worth it. This is not just a name you're buying but a very well made hair appliance that really gives you results. With my $30 flat Iron it never really got my hair really straight, like silky smooth straight like the Hana does and it always grabbed on pieces of my hair on the plates. The Hana doesn't do that at all...it slides through my hair with no issues at all. It's extremely well made and made with 100% Ceramic!

I don't think they mention it here but I love how long the cord is on my Hana Flat Iron...I don't know why but every time I buy some sort of hair appliance they always have short cords which makes it hard to maneuver. Not so with my Hana. Check out the pics peeps!! That cord is LONG!! The flat iron came in a little box too...it was put in much nicer when I first got it but I just placed the flat iron in there right now for the picture sake. It also came along with some information brochures about how to take care of it and it's benefits.

Here are some of the Hana Flat Iron's features:

I love how you can use it on wet hair and dry too so it won't damage your hair if you perhaps didn't fully dry your pretty tresses. It's really easy to use...I just plug it in and hit the switch on the inside of the flat iron (you can see it in the picture where the flat iron is laying on it's side above) and put it to the desired heating setting. I just put mine up to 450 which works fine for me. I apply a small...very small amount of the shine heat protectant serum to my hair from my neck down and grab a piece of my hair and simply glide the flat iron down slowly. Voila! Super straight shiny hair. Just repeat all the way round your head. *wink*

It's kind of funny because my hair actually looks better when I do it myself with my flat iron then when I went to the salon which incidentally was just one day before I received my Flat Iron. They just didn't know how to treat my hair very well...it got all tangled and it came out dry looking when I went to the salon but when I used the Hana Flat Iron I had awesome results. Smooth, shiny and silky.

Now, on to the photos of moi's hair...I know you've been waiting for this...lol...you can see how straight it got my hair...no easy feat believe me!! Look how shiny it is! I'm pretty much in love with my Hana Flat Iron. Frankly, I don't know what I would do if anything ever happened to it. *wide eyed stare* I think I might cry...it's that awesome. I take my hair care very seriously. giggle...I do! Well, okay, half seriously and half fun! I totally recommend you check out Misikko peeps...two thumbs up.

In these pics, I used Misikko's Shine/Protectant Serum, Missiko Hana Flat Iron on my hair. Lipstick is Wet N Wild Dollhouse Pink, Nails by Pixi in a neon bubble gum pink, Houndstooth Dress by Love Culture and I'm wearing my Margarita Bloom Aphrodite Perfume Oil and Spike It Bracelet. xoxo

♡ My Favorite Spring Hair Trends ♡

You know, I'm not sure I would actually call myself trendy. I love looking at all the trends that pop up from season to season but I don't always adhere strictly to trends. For example, bobs are in trend right now but I'm not so sure I would look good with short hair so that's a trend I'd stay away from myself but I think looks gorgeous on other peeps. Basically, I keep my eye on trends but go for what feels right for my look as you'll see below peeps.

Here are some of the trends that I'm loving!  First up...ultra straight hair by Chloe!! I've actually been on a quest to get super straight hair ever since a little perm fiasco when I was seven but don't worry you'll hear all about that in an upcoming post about my new Misikko Hana Elite Flat Iron. You'll want to read that one...that Flat iron is awesome!

Are flowers in your hair & pretty braids ever not a good thing? I think not! I ADORE Dolce&Gabanna already and these photos below just make me love them even more!! I mean, look at those pretty fleurs & the darling braids. That's pure magic.

Of course, rounding up my favs we have waves...I always love a pretty beachy wave! (Surfer Girls rock!), low ponies (so simply yet sophisticated and pretty) and pretty little bobs like Taylor's. It must be SO much easier to tame that mane what with it being short and all. I know my hair is a pain in the patootie to style but I do SO love long beachy CALI surfer girl hair! I just can't help it. *dimple*

Now, for me I kind of mixed trends and my own style below. Like I said, I LOVE straight hair and thanks to my Hana Elite Flat Iron I can now have healthy looking, ultra shiny straight hair like below. (Happy Dance!) but I also look fabulous with bangs so I just recently got them trimmed. I believe really, really short bangs are trending right now, but I look so much better with longer bangs so that's definitely not a trend I'd do.

Of course, I LOVE mermaid waves and what with my pretty @MotelRocks Gabby Sequin Dress on below it was just screaming for them to complete the look. Don't they look pretty?  What's your favorite spring trend for hair? Are you planning on doing up your hair like any of these pretty dos?

let them eat lace....

Happy Sunday you fabulous peeps! I came across this fabulous photo shoot while browsing through Tumblr as I often do...one needs inspiration on a daily basis you know. *wink* As soon as I saw it I just fell in love...how could you NOT love pretty pastels, lacy pretty robes, lingerie, fashion and pink & blue hair!? This photo shoot was done by photographer Nicoline Patricia Malina

Nicoline Patricia Malina was born in Surabaya, studied Fine Art in Utrecht, and currently shooting in Jakarta. Her photographic aesthetic is distinctive; rich colors and impeccable sense of details dominate the scene, combined with raw and cinematic black and white. From natural landscape to a tiny hotel rooms, she makes them all appear as if they are sets which have been specifically constructed for the shoot taking place. via her website.

You can see more of her work at her website.
I have a feeling I'll be featuring a lot more of her stunning imagery.

After looking at all these gorgeous pastel pretties it just makes me want to go nibble on something pretty and sugary, doesn't it? It reminds me of pretty pastel petite fours. Ooooh, soapy petite fours would be a fabulous little gift set to add to our pretty potions, don't you think? Well, there you go...instant inspiration! Sweet little tiny pastel green, pink, blue, soaps with pretty little frosting toppings with embellishments like dried fruit, star of anise, rose buds, pretty sugar flower toppings! What do you think...thumbs up, peeps?

If I was ever going to do a photo shoot I'd want it to be like this...so much FUN! Hope you enjoyed the pretty pics and if you know any photographers who you like let us know we'll check them out and maybe feature them up here. I'm always in the mood for some gorgeous eye candy. Till later dolls and dudes...kisses! *wink*
